If have ever looked at the rear of a vehicle, you will notice that the newer vehicles no longer are straight up and down. If you look at the pillars of the vehicle, the pillars are what hold the roof up, you will notice that the pillars are now arched or they are at a 45 degree angle. They do that for a very specific reason, first of all, it looks better, it is sportier, but more importantly it is actually based upon bridge design because if you look at bridges, bridges are always curved and they are in tension. So when you have it already in tension and a vehicle begins to roll over, the roof is going to hold up better. Also, when a vehicle is already in a bowed situation so that as you impact it, it is going to roll over easier and it is not going to cause as much crush because that crush is already built into the vehicle. So when you see a vehicle and you see its rear structure and its pillars and its restructure bowed in or at an angle, that is actually a good thing, not only for aerodynamics and for you know the look, it is really for safety as well.

If you, a family member, or friend have suffered a traumatic car accident injury or they were killed in an auto accident, there may be grounds for a product liability lawsuit against the car maker. The victim’s or family members of the deceased person may be entitled to significantly more money in damages than just a negligence case about the cause of the accident.

The Tracy Law Firm focuses on “Who Caused The Traumatic Car Accident Injuries or Death” — not who caused the accident.

Whether you were at fault or not in the cause of the accident, car companies are required by federal motor vehicle safety standards to make vehicles that will protect the driver and passengers from catastrophic injuries or death.
