Todd Tracy, Dallas Car Accident Lawyer and Auto Safety Expert, uses a crash test dummy in The Tracy Law Firm’s Crash Lab in this video demonstration of how a rollover auto accident causes a spinal cord injury.  When vehicle roofs collapse on the head of the driver or passengers it is often caused by a safety defect in the vehicle’s design. The resulting car accident injuries may include:  paralysis of the legs and lower body (paraplegic); or paralysis of both arms and both legs (quadriplegic).

Hello, this is Todd Tracy with the Tracy Law Firm in Dallas, Texas, here with another Todd Talk. Today, I’m in the Crash Lab here at the law firm and what I have here is I brought one of the crash test dummies that the law firm uses for various types of crash tests.

Now, you’ll notice, this one doesn’t have any arms because it’s known as a SID, a Side Impact Dummy. But I want to talk with you, using this dummy today, about the dangers that people face when they’re involved in a rollover.

When the roof of a vehicle crushes because of a rollover, there is no survival space left. And what we see happening routinely in these rollover or roof crush cases, is that the spine, particularly in the neck, the cervical spine, of C1 through C7, they end up getting pushed down and compressed, and people are rendered paraplegic or people are rendered quadriplegic, because their survival space is destroyed, because the roof is simply not strong enough.

If you or a family member are involved in a rollover and you know someone who has suffered a paralyzing injury because the roof crushed down on their head, you need to hire a law firm that is willing to fight for you. And I hope that you will contact the Tracy Firm. Thank you.

If you, a family member, or friend has suffered a catastrophic car accident injury or they were killed in an auto accident, there may be grounds to file a product liability lawsuit or a personal injury lawsuit against the car maker. The victim of a catastrophic injury or the family members of the deceased person may be entitled to significantly more money in damages than just a negligence case about the cause of the accident.

The car accident lawyers at The Tracy Law Firm do not care who was at fault in the accident. We focus on what caused traumatic injury or death. For example, if a safety defect in the occupant protection system failed, you may be able to sue for pain and suffering, medical expenses, and loss of income.

Todd Tracy’s Vehicle Crashworthiness law practice is his professional calling to help make motor vehicles safer for families and especially for children.  Please feel free to contact Todd to evaluate your case at no expense. You can reach Todd at 214-324-9000 or directly through this contact form.
